Happy Holidays and Happy New Year

The staff of Eastwood School would like to wish all students and parents of our fine community a Happy Holiday and a Happy New Year.  Please be safe and we will see you back on January 4th, 2010 when we will all be driving flying cars and wearing silver suits.

Report Cards Go Home…now the challenge!

Report cards have gone home to indicate your child’s progress through the Ontario Curriculum.  We do not have any interview dates now until the second term.  There were also letters sent home to some students about attendance and punctuality.  We send these home to make sure you are totally aware of the situation and also to have your child focus on getting to school on time and ready to learn.  Thanks for your attention to this.

THE CHALLENGE:  Ask your child to take the report card and in term 2 place all the marks that they will strive for as a goal for term two.  At the end of term two compare.  Keep this report on the fridge so that your child has a visual goal to work towards.  When we all have goals, we can begin the work of reaching them!

Parent Volleyball is a Hit!

Mrs. Tennent gave the parents a chance to really see how powerful our girls volleyball team was this season when she invited them to play against the girls tonight.  Great idea Miss and WOW what a response.  To the 20 or so parents that were there thanks so much for the support!

Great job parents and girls! Good game.

Stand By Me. . . we need to help eachother.

Playing For Change is a movement to connect the world through music. From the award-winning documentary, Playing For Change: Peace Through Music, comes the first of many “songs around the world” being released independently. Featured is a cover of the Ben E. King classic by musicians around the world adding their part to the song as it travelled the globe. What a wonderful initiative! What an inspiring video! Must see!

M.L. Wins with a short wish list!

Look at the smile on this student's face!

This student won a brand new Spits hoody for sharing her thoughts on Holiday wishes with us.  Great work M.L.
