Pink Shirt Day – February 29th

This Wednesday, February 29th is Pink Shirt Day, Canada’s National Day to show your commitment to a Bully-Free Life. Eastwood has taken on many events, including our Stand Up club, to help bring light to and end bullying.

For many, the Pink Shirt has become a symbol of the UPSTANDER – the advocate, friend, ally. The person who will make a difference in the life of others by standing up and playing a role in creating safe, equitable spaces for all students, staff and community members.

Will you STAND UP? Wear pink this Wednesday, February 29th.

Eastwood Eagles…..Wear Pink, Show you are an Upstander.

Kaius Takes First!

Our oral communications festival ended of Friday with the judges still in deliberation at 3:00 pm! The speeches must have been incredible!

The finals came down to three individuals:

Kaius is the first overall winner and will represent Eastwood at the next level with his speech on bullying.

Patrick was runner up with his factual speech on baseball.

Unaib came third with an entertaining speech on how to deal with telemarketers.

Congratulations speakers and all contestants for preparing and participating.

Good luck to Kaius our Eastwood Eagles competitor!

Special thanks to the judges, questioners and to Mrs Nardone and Mrs Wakeman for organizing the event.
