Out Of District Application Processes

The Board’s Administrative Procedure “Out of District Elementary Application Procedure” AD-AP-59 was implemented in January of 2013. It states that elementary out of district applications must be received by the Principal of the receiving school by March 15 of each year for September of the same year.

This deadline is strictly enforced as schools are staffed based on projected enrolments as of March 31. If you are considering an application for your child(ren) to attend a school as an out of district student for the 2015-16 school year, please ensure that your application is completed and submitted by March 15, 2015.

A sibling of a student who has already been approved to attend an out of district school must apply in the usual manner with no guarantee of acceptance. Please understand that applying for Out of District at any time may be denied based on open vs. closed boundary schools or potential Program and Accommodation Reviews.

Any applications for the 2015-16 school year will not be processed by the Superintendent of Accommodations until March of 2015. At that time, you will be officially advised by letter whether or not the application is approved.
